Convenient do-it-yourself cat carrier. Different types and tailoring of do-it-yourself cat carrier bags Do-it-yourself carrier for a kitten quickly

Going into a pet store, it is quite possible to get confused both by the number of carrier bags for cats offered, and by the price of them. If you are a frequent traveler and take your pet on trips, then it is definitely better to invest in a good mobile home. For example, the offered plastic containers are best suited for flights. But if your cat rarely gets out into the street in a carrier, then the bag can be made independently. So you will save your budget, and you will develop the design yourself. How to sew a cat carrier bag? Patterns and tips can be found in this article.

Choosing material to carry

When choosing a fabric, you should proceed from the time at which the pet house will be used. Ideally, it is better to make several carrier bags for the cat. For each season - their own apartments for trips.

For summer cat trips, look for dense yet breathable fabrics. These include jeans, raincoat fabric and the like. Make sure that the pet is not bored on the trip. To do this, make a window so that he admires the surroundings. Any sheer fabric or mosquito net will work.

For winter trips, warmer material is needed. Pay attention to fleece. Mesh is also needed, but care must be taken to ensure that it can be closed tightly and that it does not release heat.

To make a cat carrier bag out of fabric, it is not necessary to buy new material. It is quite possible to use an old jacket or bag. Of these, you should make the main parts for carrying. Everything you need to purchase for sewing: finishing fabric, zippers and insulation.

The bottom of the carrier must be rigid. This is necessary so that the cat feels comfortable during the movement due to the stability of its position. For the base, use materials of appropriate rigidity: plastic, plywood or fiberboard. You can make the bottom cardboard. However, it won't last long. Under the weight of the cat, the cardboard will begin to sag, and eventually the carrier will become unusable.

What tools are useful for sewing?

To make a do-it-yourself cat carrier bag, you need to stock up on some materials:

  • First of all, it's fabrics. You choose them based on the criteria described above. Remember that two types of fabrics are needed: the main and lining.
  • Foam rubber for softness of a product.
  • Lightning. There may be several. The number of zippers in the bag will depend on the pattern chosen.
  • A piece of plywood or plastic to reinforce the bottom.
  • Sewing machine.
  • Non-woven base to strengthen the seams.
  • Mosquito net to protect the viewing window.
  • Pens. You can take them from your old bag.

Taking measurements from a cat

This is the main and indispensable condition. To create a comfortable do-it-yourself cat carrier, you need to know some sizes of your pet. In particular, the length and height of the animal.

The length of the cat is measured from the inside of the front paw to the tail. Growth - from the paw to the neck. The length and height of the container are defined.

The dimensions of the carrying bag should be made convenient for the cat. This means that the pet must be freely located in his travel house: be able to turn around, stand in full height. To create comfortable conditions for an animal, multiply the indicated measurements (length and height of the carrier) by 1.5.

Semi-circular carry bag

When building this pattern, only three parts are used. In a simplified version - two. The pattern consists of the front and back walls, the bottom and two sides.

In order to sew a cat carrier bag with your own hands, you will need the materials listed above. Namely:

  • dense fabric that keeps its shape, it is better to use several types (frame, lining and decorative);
  • for bottom rigidity - plywood, cardboard or a sheet of plastic;
  • foam rubber;
  • lightning;
  • a pen;
  • mesh to protect the window.

How to sew a semicircular shipping container?

  1. Cut out the main pieces from the lining and frame fabric. Insert soft material (foam rubber) between the sides. Make the bottom hard: that is, put plastic or plywood between the lining and the frame fabric.
  2. The size of the sidewalls should correspond to the measure of the "height of the cat" plus five centimeters. Otherwise, the animal will rest against the top of the bag.
  3. Sweep the details. Sew the sides to the bottom.
  4. Make a window out of a mosquito net.
  5. Baste a zipper to the top side of either of the two sidewalls.
  6. Cut out the front and back of the carrier from a single piece of fabric in the shape of a rectangle.
  7. Sew a handle in the middle.
  8. Sew the details on the machine. First sew the part where the zipper is. After the rest.

Bag with long handles

In the photo you can see that the pattern of this carrier is simple and unpretentious. It is very easy to sew. The photo shows a detailed diagram with the necessary designations.

  1. Cut out pieces of the required size from a piece of paper.
  2. Lay the pattern on the main and lining fabric and foam rubber. Cut them out taking into account the seam allowances.
  3. Sew the sides on two types of fabric. Insert foam inside.
  4. Sew the bottom of the bag to the sidewall (main fabric).
  5. Repeat with the same lining pieces.
  6. Lay foam rubber between the main and lining fabrics.
  7. Baste the side seam.
  8. The zipper will be located on the top of the bag. Sew it on.
  9. Make the handles the length you see fit.
  10. Sew them on.

Bag with four zips

The calculation is based on a medium-sized cat. To make this transfer, you will need the following:

  • one square meter of the main and lining fabric, foam rubber (you can use synthetic winterizer instead);
  • four lightning bolts;
  • Velcro;
  • plywood measuring 20 by 40 cm;
  • mesh - 45 by 20 cm;
  • pens.

Consider step by step how to sew a do-it-yourself cat carrier bag according to a pattern. She will be with a lot of lightning.

  1. Enlarge the pattern shown in the photo to the desired size. For convenience, the places for each zipper are marked with different colors on it.
  2. Fold the main and lining fabrics together.
  3. Prepare the details according to the paper pattern. Cut them out, taking into account the seam allowances of one centimeter.
  4. Open the back pocket.
  5. Do the same with foam rubber.
  6. Carefully cut out a hole for the window on the fabric.
  7. Make a window out of a mosquito net. The size is indicated in the photo. Don't forget about seam allowances.
  8. Reinforce the bottom with hard material: plywood or cardboard.
  9. Sweep the details and stitch them on a typewriter.
  10. Now we need to deal with lightning. The photo shows exactly how they need to be sewn. Zippers should close from the corners of the carrying.
  11. Attach the top flap of the container to the cross section of the bag. In the photo, this place is marked with a cross. Zippers number 4 and 5 should fasten the valve.
  12. Sew a handle on top. Carrying bag is ready!

Decorate a cat house for trips

After you have finished making a bag for your pet, you can use your imagination to decorate it. Various elements are used for decoration. Suitable rhinestones, beads, threads, beads, appliqué, fur. It all depends on your imagination and desire.

A cat is an animal with a wayward character. And it may well be that the bag you made with love and care will be rejected by the pet. The first option is to force the cat into the carrier. However, this will be a serious stress for the animal. In addition, there will be scratches on your hands. What to do in this case?

With a hand-made carrying bag, the cat should be “acquainted”. She should be associated with a pet with something positive and calm. It takes a few days for a cat to get used to her moving house.

What kind of bag do you prefer?

Above were presented several options for carrying patterns. Each one is easy to sew. When choosing a form, you should be guided by your preferences. A hand-sewn cat carrier with long handles will allow you to carry it on your shoulder. Hands will remain free. A semi-circular carrier is more suitable for medium-sized cats. A large number of zippers on the bag will allow you to get a picky pet from any direction. The choice is ultimately yours!

It is not always possible to buy a special carrier for your cat in the store. In addition, they are quite expensive and not everyone can afford extra expenses, because, as practice shows, such a thing is not needed very often.

If you urgently need to deliver a pet somewhere, there is no time to do needlework, but if you wish, there is always the opportunity and many ways to make the transfer yourself.

Material selection

Before you make a carrier for cats with your own hands, you need to imagine what should happen at the end. Estimate the size of the cat. And if the animal is with kittens, then the bag should be made more spacious, and the bottom more dense. And the walls of the carrier must be layered with insulation.

If you need a carrier for the summer, a regular fabric will do. But it is better to use a more durable material. The ideal option is thick leather or denim. Synthetic materials are undesirable. They do not have a breathable surface and are highly electrified, especially when rubbing against cat hair.

The winter version of the bag needs additional insulation. To make the pet comfortable and safe to travel in the cold season, it is necessary to use fleece or synthetic winterizer as a heater.

The bag must be ventilated. Otherwise, the cat will suffocate.

To keep the shape of the carrier bag, a frame is needed. You need to sew it into the side seams. To do this, you need a metal wire or plastic tubes. You can insulate the carrier with germaflex - this material will help maintain the shape of the product.

Sewing a bag for a cat

Before you start making a house for your cat, you need to prepare materials for making a carrying bag in advance:

  1. 1. Scissors.
  2. 2. Threads.
  3. 3. Thick fabric.
  4. 4. Lining fabric.
  5. 5. Not thick foam insulation.
  6. 6. Plywood.
  7. 7. 2-3 zippers.
  8. 8. Velcro for zippers or rivets.
  9. 9. A piece of window (mosquito) mesh.

First you need to measure the animal and write down the data on paper. The length of the bag in the end should be twice the width.

After that, you need to make a pattern. It is best to prepare a triangular version in the form of a house. Next, cut out two rectangular sides and a triangle from dense fabric. Cut out the plywood base.

Perhaps there is a rectangle made of wood that is suitable in size: the harder the bottom, the better - the cat will feel insecure on the sagging floor. For the bottom you need to make a cover, put a heater under it.

If the carrier is summer, then one side can be made entirely of fine mesh. Three rectangles need to be sewn around the edges. Sew or stick with Velcro along the top edge and side.

Sew on handles - you can take them from an old bag or make them yourself.

For various movements, the owners need to have a carrying bag for the cat. It is desirable that there are several carriers. Carrying bags in the store are expensive. In order to save a little, you can sew a bag for a cat with your own hands from improvised means. Pet carriers come in winter (warm carriers) and summer (lightweight, breathable carriers). It is best to sew a carrier from waterproof and breathable fabric. In order to provide the bag with additional air access, you can make a window of mesh fabric and holes.

Purpose of carrying

The owners are well aware of the problem of transporting the animal. If you want to transport a cat to a country house, an exhibition or a veterinary clinic, then the carrier is necessary. It is inconvenient to transport a cat in travel, shopping bags or baskets. The cat will be uncomfortable and more stressed than in a special carrier bag or carrier.

I carried my first cat to the veterinary clinic in an ordinary travel bag. Each of our trips was accompanied by terrible howls. The cat's fear was exacerbated by the terrible conditions of transportation.

Carry Requirements

There are several requirements for carrying:

  • for long-distance transportation, the carrier must be spacious so that you can put a bowl for food and water;
  • hard bottom - the cat will feel more confident if the floor does not leave from under her paws;
  • ventilation - the carrier must have holes through which it will flow Fresh air and the cat will be able to observe what is happening around;
  • reliable locks, strong straps and fasteners so that the cat cannot open the zipper on its own and to minimize the risk of the straps breaking, otherwise the animal may be injured if the carrier falls;
  • materials for cat carriers must be of high quality, without foreign smell, not stained.

Types of carriers depending on the material of manufacture

Most often, cat carriers come in three types:

  • cloth,
  • plastic,
  • wicker.

Cloth carriers

Lightweight, small size. At home, you can always find a place to store such a carrier. In a cloth carrier, it will be comfortable and convenient for a cat to travel over short distances, for example, to a veterinary clinic, to an exhibition, or just to walk along the street. Cloth carriers are not designed for long walks.

plastic carriers

Comfortable and essential for long trips. These carriers are spacious, large in size, with mesh sides. In such carriers, you can install a bowl for food, a drinking bowl or even a cat litter box. Plastic carriers are washable. They are not suitable for walking for short distances, as they are heavy and do not have special belts.

Wicker carriers

They are usually made of wood, have a rigid frame, like plastic ones, and are freely ventilated. These carriers are light in weight and come in a variety of sizes. The disadvantage is that they strongly absorb foreign odors, and it is often undesirable to wash them. The material of wicker carriers deteriorates from water: wooden rods turn black, fungus may appear on them. A wicker carrier will not save the animal from bad weather.

How to make a carrier with your own hands

It is easier to make a fabric transfer with your own hands.

Benefits of a DIY carry bag:

  • saving money, which is possible if improvised materials are used, for example, old jackets, buying new materials is unlikely to save money, since modern fabrics and accessories are expensive;
  • high-quality materials - you can independently choose fabric, insulation, accessories.

Consider several models of carrying.

General points

For work you need:

  • main fabric,
  • lining fabric,
  • foam rubber,
  • lightning,
  • plywood, cardboard or other dense material to strengthen the bottom,
  • sewing machine,
  • carabiners, locks,
  • interlining to strengthen the seams,
  • mesh to protect the viewing window.

In addition, you need to take measurements from the cat to estimate the size of the bag. You usually need to know the following:

  • the length of the cat (from the inside of the front paw to the tail) - this will be the length of the bag,
  • the height of the cat (from the floor to the neck) - this will be the height of the bag.

For comfortable placement of a cat in a bag, it is recommended to use measurements with a factor of 1.5.

Bag with long handles

According to the diagram below, you can make a pattern of a bag with long handles. Scheme of a bag with long handles

The scheme of the bag with long handles is very simple. For tailoring, it is better to use dense waterproof material and foam rubber (batting).

Legend:

  • A is the length of the cat,
  • B - the height of the cat.

Progress:

  1. Using the scheme, we make a pattern of the product.
  2. We impose a pattern on the main fabric, lining fabric, foam rubber. Cut out.
  3. Sew the side seam on the main and lining fabric.
  4. We sew the side of the foam rubber.
  5. We attach the bottom part from the main fabric to the part of the side part from the main fabric.
  6. Attach the bottom piece from the lining to the side piece from the lining.
  7. We take the lining and insert it into the main fabric, laying foam rubber between them.
  8. We manually fasten the side seam to fix it.
  9. Sew a zipper to the top of the bag.
  10. We make the handles of the desired length.
  11. Sew on the handles.

Such a bag can be sewn according to scheme No. 1

According to the scheme presented above, we make a pattern and cut out a rectangle, a bottom and two sidewalls.

To strengthen the bottom, as in the previous version of the bag, the bottom of the old bag, plywood or thick cardboard is suitable. The bag consists of a rectangle, bottom and sides of the main fabric (for the top) and lining fabric. The zipper should be equal to the height of the rectangle, according to the scheme, the back and the front with a window. We sew a mesh into the front so that the cat can breathe and see what is happening around.

Progress:

  1. According to the scheme, we cut out a rectangle, bottom and sidewalls (2 pcs.).
  2. First, we collect the main part of the bag - this is the main and lining fabric.
  3. Inside, between the tissues, we put a synthetic winterizer (foam rubber can be used).
  4. Sew a zipper into the side of the bag.
  5. Reinforce the bottom with plywood.
  6. We give the bag a triangular shape.
  7. We fix and sew the bottom.
  8. We sew all the details together.
  9. Attach the handle.

Bag with five zippers

Scheme of a bag with 5 zippers

Such a bag can also be sewn if you have a sewing machine and desire. The scheme is clear, money savings are guaranteed.

To sew this bag you will need:

  • a piece of the main fabric (1 sq. m.),
  • a piece of lining fabric (1 sq. m),
  • zipper (5 pcs.),
  • Velcro,
  • plywood or thick cardboard (20*37 cm),
  • mesh (45*20 cm),
  • foam rubber or synthetic winterizer (1 sq. M),
  • pens (for example, from an old bag or briefcase).

Operating procedure:

  1. Print out the pattern or draw by hand on paper.
  2. Place the main and lining fabric together.
  3. We impose a paper pattern, chop off with pins and cut out. Don't forget the 1cm seam allowance.
  4. Cut out the back pocket separately.
  5. Cut out with scissors.
  6. We do the same with foam rubber.
  7. Carefully cut a hole for the mesh.
  8. We cut the grid according to the dimensions in the diagram, leaving an allowance of 1 cm.
  9. We put a sheet of plywood or cardboard in place of the bottom.
  10. We sweep the details along the red line.
  11. We sew on the car.
  12. We attach the zippers so that they close from the corners of the bag (see diagram).
  13. We sew the pocket zipper so that the cat remains on the bag when you unfasten the pocket.
  14. We attach the upper valve of the bag to one of the sides of the transverse part (marked with a red cross).
  15. Zippers 4 and 5 must fasten the valve.
  16. We attach the Velcro to the top of the pocket so that the large opening with the mesh closes.
  17. Sew a handle on top.

The cat fits freely in the bag It is convenient for the cat to lie in the bag The window is convenient to open

The pattern involves only three parts

We will need:

  • dense, shape-holding fabric, preferably of several types (frame, lining and decorative);
  • plywood, cardboard or a sheet of plastic to stiffen the bottom of the carrier;
  • foam rubber for the comfort and warmth of the cat;
  • zipper, belt tape, carabiners, rings and limiters, if you want, in addition to the handle, there is also a shoulder strap;
  • a pen;
  • mesh to protect windows;

The pattern involves only three (a simplified version of two) details:

  • two sides.

The bottom and side walls are sewn from lining and frame fabric. Plastic (plywood, cardboard) is inserted between them. Foam rubber is used to sew a mattress inside the bag.

Semi-oval sidewalls are made as tall as a cat in a standing position. Be sure to make allowances for the seams. Otherwise, the cat will rest its head against the ceiling of the carrier.

Operating procedure:

  1. We sew the sidewalls to the finished bottom (or you can make the bottom immediately with the sidewalls, in the form of one piece).
  2. We sew windows for a cat from a textile grid.
  3. We attach a zipper to the upper sides of one of the sidewalls.
  4. The front and back of the bag is cut from one piece of fabric in the shape of a rectangle. A handle is sewn in the middle.
  5. We sew the part on a typewriter first with the free part of the zipper, which is attached to one of the triangles, and then along the perimeter with the bottom and with the second sidewall.
  6. We carry out the decoration (sew on the details of the decoration).

In my opinion, the advantage of this carrier over others is greater ventilation, a good summer option, if you also choose a light top fabric.

Master class on making a bag

Consider step by step sewing a carrying bag for a small cat or kittens.
Convenient bag for a small cat

Such a bag can be sewn, for example, from an old raincoat. In this example, the bottom and top are sewn. It is recommended to use a not very thick fabric so that you can sew on a sewing machine.
The bag consists of the following parts:

  • the upper part is a rectangular piece measuring 32 * 55 cm;
  • the bottom of the bag is a rectangular piece measuring 32 * 20.5 cm;
  • two sides;
  • pens.

Sidewalls can be cut out in parts; mesh windows are made in each sidewall.

Dimensions are without seam allowances.

Handle making

Operating procedure:

  1. Cut out strips for handles 6 cm wide (without allowances).
  2. We sew the strips together, the length of the handles we need is 2 meters (both handles together, no need to cut).
  3. We iron the strip to the center, we do not process the edges, they will be closed with a ribbon, the width of the strip is 3 cm.
  4. We attach a ribbon from the side of the raw edges.

It is better to choose a dense braid to strengthen the handles.
Sew along the entire length of the braid

Making the top of the bag with handles

The procedure for sewing the top:

  1. We sew on one side the top and bottom of the main fabric.
  2. We outline where the pens, pocket will be.
  3. We sew one handle on the side where the pocket will be, that is, we sew the edges of the pocket with a handle.
  4. We cut out a pocket from the mesh and trim it (pocket size 15 * 20 cm).
  5. To what we have outlined, we sew the bottom with a braid near the bottom.

Outline where the pens, pocket will be

The procedure for attaching handles:

  1. We sew the ribbon at a height of 12 cm from the bottom where the second handle will be, leaving two gaps (then we will insert the second handle there).
  2. Leave free a small tip of the tape for pens.
  3. We flash with right side from the pocket about 12 cm up.
  4. We leave the handle itself free (56 cm) and sew 12 cm down.
  5. We chop off the remaining end with a pin so that it does not interfere.

Where the second handle will be, sew on the braid. Leave two gaps. Sew on the first handle, while sewing the pocket.

Top and bottom sewing

Operating procedure:

  1. We cut out the bottom and top from the main fabric and for the lining.
  2. We cut out the bottom and top of the synthetic winterizer, but without allowances for the seams.
  3. We immediately attach it to the lining, as if we fasten it with several seams, covering it with chintz from the side of the padding polyester (then it will be more convenient to insert the gasket).
  4. We sew on a typewriter together the lining and the main fabric from 3 sides. We do not connect one long side. Through it we will then insert the gasket.
  5. Sew the other side of the bottom to the top.

It should turn out like a pipe.

Sidewall manufacturing

Operating procedure:

  1. We cut out 2 windows from the grid.
  2. We sew 3 parts at once: lining, mesh and main fabric, laying the front side on the mesh.
  3. First we sew 2 barrels and turn them to the front side, iron them.
  4. We sew the upper part, turn it off, iron it.
  5. We sew the lower part, we sew, as it were, around the window.

Strengthening the bag with germaflex

Germaflex is an environmentally friendly type of insulation obtained by foaming high-pressure polyethylene.

Operating procedure:

  1. We place between the main fabric and the lining for rigidity the details of the germaflex.
  2. We sew along the edge.
  3. Sew the finished sidewalls to the bottom.
  4. We cut out a 32x55 cm spacer from the germaflex and insert it into the top of the bag between the main fabric and the lining (we had one side not sewn up for this).
  5. Sew on both sides of the zipper.

You can also add a zipper to the top of the bag. Then the gasket can be put last.

This is what the germaflex looks like. Then we sew along the edge. Cut out a 32x55 cm gasket from the germaflex. Insert it up the bag between the main fabric and the lining.

Work to strengthen the bottom and sections

Operating procedure:

  1. Cut the bottom out of plywood or hardboard.
  2. It also inserts between tissues.
  3. We sheathe all open sections with narrow stripes of fabric (oblique trim).

Shutdown

It's time to insert the second handle.

Operating procedure:

  1. We pass the long unsewn end of the handle under the bottom and up through the hole.
  2. We pass through the second hole and again under the bottom (there we left a small tail unsewn).
  3. We connect the handle to the unsewn end.

For decoration, you can use, for example, two hair ties with kittens.

This bag is a great option for a carrying bag for the cool season. The synthetic winterizer and dzhermafleks will not let the cat freeze and protect from ambient noise.

Bag decoration

When the main work on making the bag is finished, you can start decorating.

Rhinestones, beads, threads, beads, appliqué, fur are used for decoration. Decoration depends on the tastes of the hostess, the jewelry and imagination at hand.
Carrying bag can be decorated with fabric appliqué

Decorating a bag with beads

The following types of beading are distinguished:

  • Embroidery. This method is used mainly for the design of fabric accessories (silk, denim, cotton). In addition to beads, you can use rhinestones, coins, ribbons.
  • Sticking. It is applicable for leather, plastic, oilcloth, suede bags. It is necessary to use only transparent glue of fast fixing. You will also need tweezers and a clean cloth to remove excess composition. After registration, the decor should completely stick together, it will take about two days.

Before registration, it is necessary to create a sketch of the future drawing. This will allow you to evaluate the compatibility of colors and the result in advance.

The bag can be decorated with a beaded appliqué. The future decoration is woven separately, and then simply glued or sewn to the bag. You can use this method if you plan to create a small beautiful accent on the bag in the form of a flower or a funny character.

Video tutorial on making beaded jewelry for decorating a bag

The video tutorial demonstrates the production of a bright brooch from beads on felt. The brooch can be used to decorate the bag.

If there is no piece of fabric at hand, and the carrier needs to be made in a short time, you can use old jackets or jeans, any clothes with a moderately dense fabric that is not difficult to sew on a typewriter.

For the base (bottom) of the carrier, the bottom of an old bag, thick cardboard or thin plastic is suitable. Without a hard bottom, the carrier will be shapeless, and it will be inconvenient to carry a pet in it.

The most convenient shape for self-tailoring is a triangle, where the base is the floor. For one of the sidewalls you will need a mesh, for the other - a zipper. You will also need a sling or strap for the handles to carry the carrier in your hands or over your shoulder. The base of the bag should be large enough so that the pet is comfortable inside and does not feel too constrained.

The dimensions of the base are written down on a piece of paper and the necessary calculations are made, finding out the amount of fabric that will be needed to sew the carrying bag. If the animal will be carried close and only in the summer, you can take a thin fabric for the walls, for example, ordinary cotton. This carrier is perfect for transporting a cat to the country and back. If the carrier will be used more often and at all times of the year, it is better to use denser fabrics for it so that you do not have to put too many blankets there in winter.

Order of execution

For the bottom of the carrier, the same material is used as for the walls, but fleece can be put inside to make the pet softer and warmer, this is especially important for very young passengers. A cover is sewn from a light fabric, where a rigid base is inserted, and then it is sheathed with the fabric used to sew the carrier.

4 identical parts are cut out of the selected material and sewn from the inside so that the front side of the fabric remains visible from the outside. An additional external pocket can be attached to one of the outer walls, it can be useful for carrying things with a pet and will serve as another decorative element.

For the side triangular walls that serve to carry back and forth, a mesh will be required. One of the walls is made mesh for free breathing and review of the pet.

The finished parts of the bottom and all 4 walls are sewn together on a typewriter or manually, then handles are attached to the carrier. It is necessary to fix the handles as best as possible so that they do not come off even in the event of a panic that has begun in the animal. For the same reason, it is better to use a long handle over your shoulder - this way there will be less chance that the bag, along with the pet, will slip out of your hands and fall. Inside you can fix any toys for the cat and things that can be chewed - for the dog. After that, the carrier can be used.

You will need

  • - calendered capron for the top;
  • - penofol or paraplene;
  • - flannel for lining;
  • - mosquito net;
  • - 4-5 buttons;
  • - lightning;
  • - parachute slings or corsage tape;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - soldering iron;
  • - kapron and cotton threads;
  • - needles;
  • - chalk or soap;
  • - graph paper;

Consider the dimensions. The cat should fit freely in the bag, but at the same time there should not be too much space. The length of the carrying is approximately 1.5 times the length of the animal from the nose to the beginning of the tail. Width and height - a little more than half the length.

Draw on millimeter paper. Build a rectangle for the bottom according to the dimensions. The side part can be cut in the form of a strip, the width of which is equal to the height of the carrier, and the length is equal to the perimeter of the bottom. Draw a rectangle for the top valve too. It is the same length as the bottom, but its width is about one and a half times greater.

Cut out the pieces of insulation, calendered nylon and flannel. Make the top valve without insulation, only from flannel and calender. Cut out another flap from the mosquito net.

Sew a frame of insulation. If you are using penofol, assemble the box so that the foil is on the outside. Sew the paraplene with nylon threads threaded into a thick needle. The frame can also be glued with universal glue. Spread the ends, press the long edges of the side parts firmly against them and let the workpiece dry.

Baste and stitch long strips of the side part to the bottom of the calendered nylon. Calendered fabrics are best cut with a soldering iron along the ruler, in which case the seams can be left unfinished. Cut 2 straps 1.5-2 m long for handles from a parachute sling or corsage tape. Mark their position on the workpiece. The handles should be symmetrical and cover the entire carrier except for the top flap. Baste and stitch them, then sew on short strips of the side part.

Place the wrong sides of the flannel and calender flaps. Baste and stitch all seams, except for the one with which the flap will be sewn to the back of the carrier. Iron the seams and turn the piece right side out. Iron the open cut to the wrong side, then fold the allowances inward and iron again. Sew the mosquito net valve around the edge with a braid, folding it in half. Leave unstitched the edge that will be stitched to the back. Insert the open cut of the strainer valve into the allowances of the main one. Baste the flap to the back of the carrier and sew.
