What does the symbol 666 mean? Interpretations of the number "666"

This verse says that the number of the beast is six hundred and sixty-six; and it must be confessed that more ingenuity has been expended on this verse than on any other verse of Scripture.

18 Here is wisdom. He who has intelligence, count the number of the beast, for it is a human number; its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
(Rev. 13:18)

Modern translation: This requires wisdom. Anyone who has reason can understand the meaning of the number of the beast, for it corresponds to the human number. The number is six hundred sixty six.

Who is this satanic beast represented here by such a symbolic number?

We must remember that in antiquity there were no numbers, and the function of numbers was also performed by the letters of the alphabet. So, in Cyrillic (Russian alphabet) A meant 1; B-2; AT 3; G-4, etc. Thus, every word, and therefore every name, can also be a number.

One sweet and romantic example of this use is given by Gustav Deisman. On the walls of Pompeii, one lover wrote: “I love the one whose number is 545,” and thereby named the name of his beloved and at the same time hid it!

666 - PRINT

Countless speculations have been made regarding the number 666.

Due to the fact that this is the name of the beast, it was distorted in any way possible to fit their sworn enemy; and therefore 666 also meant the Pope, Napoleon, the leader of German Protestantism Martin Luther, the founder of the Scottish Presbyterian Church John Knox and many others.

So, during the Second World War they managed to create a system according to which it turned out that 666 was Hitler!

Sworn Enemy of the Church

Revelation is written in coded language; therefore, it is quite obvious that here, where the name of the sworn enemy of the Church was concerned, the most reliable code was chosen.

Oddly enough, the key to the code was apparently lost very early on, because even such a great theologian as Irenaeus of Lyons, who lived in the second century, did not know what stood behind this symbolic number.

Four of the earliest guesses

We present here four of the earliest assumptions.

  1. Irenaeus of Lyon suggested that it could symbolize Euanfas.
    In Greek: E - 5; U - 400; A - 1; N - 50; F - 9; A - 1; C - 200; and the amount is 666. But what Euanfas is - Irenaeus knew nothing about this; that is, he replaced one riddle with another.
  2. It has been suggested that the word is Lateinos.
    L - 30; A - 1; T - 300; E - 5; I - 10; N - 50; O - 70; C - 200; the sum is 666. Lateinos could be understood as Latin and could therefore symbolize the Roman Empire.
  3. The third guess was that the word was Teitan.
T - 300; E - 5; I - 10; T - 300; A - 1; H -50; and the sum is 666. Two meanings could be obtained from teitanos. In ancient Greek mythology, the Titans rebelled against God. Secondly, the emperors Vespasian, Titus and Domitian were from the Titus family, and perhaps they could be called titans.
  4. A fourth person suggested that the word is arnoume.
    A - 1; R - 100; N - 50; O - 70; U -400; M - 40; E - 5; and the sum is 666. There is a possibility that arnoume is a form of the Greek word arnoumai, “I deny.” In this case, the number symbolizes the denial of the name of Christ.

None of these assumptions seem convincing. The chapter itself offers us the best clue to the mystery.

Again and again there is mention of a mortally wounded head, which was then healed. As we have already seen, this head symbolizes the legend of Emperor Nero Nero redivivus, and therefore we can well assume that the number has something to do with Nero.

In many ancient lists, the number is given as 616. If we write the name Nero in Latin letters and give them numerical values, we get: N - 50; E -6; R - 500; O - 60; N - 50, and the sum - 666; if you write the name Nero without the last N, the sum will be 616. And if the words Caesar Nero are transcribed with Hebrew consonants, their sum will also be equal to 666.

Thus, it can be assumed that the number of the beast symbolizes the emperor Nero, and that John predicts the coming of the Antichrist in the form of Nero, the embodiment of evil, who has returned to this earth.

666 - seal on Jews professing Judaism

There is a place in the Bible where the number 666 is mentioned:

(1 Kings 10:14)

Read the entire 10th chapter of 1 Kings

1 The Queen of Sheba, having heard about the glory of Solomon in the name of the Lord, came to test him with riddles.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with very great wealth: the camels were loaded with spices and a great abundance of gold and precious stones; and she came to Solomon and talked with him about everything that was in her heart.
3 And Solomon explained to her all her words, and there was nothing unknown to the king that he did not explain to her.
4 And the Queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he had built,
5 And the food at his table, and the habitation of his servants, and the order of his servants, and their clothing, and his butlers, and his burnt offerings, which he offered in the temple of the Lord. And she couldn't resist anymore
6 And she said to the king, “It is true that I have heard in my land about your works and about your wisdom;
7 But I did not believe the words until I came and my eyes saw: and behold, not even half was told to me; You have more wisdom and wealth than I heard.
8 Blessed are your people and blessed are these your servants, who always stand before you and hear your wisdom!
9 Blessed be the Lord your God, who has been pleased to place you on the throne of Israel! The Lord, out of His eternal love for Israel, made you king, to do justice and justice.
10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a great quantity of spices, and precious stones; never before had such a multitude of incense come as the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
11 And the ship of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought from Ophir a great abundance of mahogany and precious stones.
12 And the king made of this red wood railings for the temple of the Lord and for the king's house, and harp and psaltery for the singers; So much mahogany has never come and has not been seen to this day.
13 And King Solomon gave to the Queen of Sheba everything that she desired and asked for, beyond what King Solomon had given her with his own hands. And she went back to her land, she and all her servants.
14 The gold that came to Solomon every year weighed six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
15 in addition to what [was received] from the peddlers of goods and from the trade of merchants, and from all the kings of Arabia and from the governors of the provinces.
16 And King Solomon made two hundred great shields of beaten gold, six hundred [shekels] went to each shield;
17 And three hundred smaller shields of beaten gold, three minas of gold went to each shield; and the king set them in a house of Lebanon wood.
18 And the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold;
19 There were six steps to the throne; the top behind the throne was round, and there were armrests on both sides of the seat, and two lions stood at the armrests;
20 and twelve other lions stood there on six steps on either side. This has never happened in any kingdom.
21 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon [were] of gold, and all the vessels of the house of Lebanon were of pure gold; there was nothing made of silver, because silver in the days of Solomon was considered worthless;
22 For the king had the ship of Tarshish at sea with the ship of Hiram; Every three years the ship of Tarshish came, bringing gold and silver, and ivory, and monkeys, and peacocks.
23 King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom.
24 And all [the kings] on earth sought to see Solomon, that they might hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 And they brought him, each on his own, a gift: vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and clothing, and weapons, and incense, horses and mules, every year.
26 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.
27 And the king made the silver in Jerusalem equal in value to simple stones, and the cedars, because of their abundance, made them equal in value to the sycamore trees [growing] in low places.
28 And horses were brought to King Solomon from Egypt and from Kuba; royal merchants bought them from Kuva for money.
29 The chariot from Egypt was received and delivered for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and the horse for one hundred and fifty. In the same way they delivered [all this] with their own hands to the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aramean.
(1 Kings 10:1-29)

Historical background, Solomon's gold.

The annual receipts and reserves of gold during the reign of Solomon were very huge, judging, as we read, that he had shields made of forged gold, gold drinking vessels, small shields (screens) of gold and an ivory throne, overlaid with pure gold and silver Silver and gold in Jerusalem in his time were equivalent to simple stones (10:10-22; 2 Chron. 1:15).

Five years after Solomon's death, the Egyptian king Shusakim came to Jerusalem and took all of Solomon's gold (14:25,26; 2 Chron. 12:2, 9-11).

It was only recently in 1939 that the mummy of Susakim was discovered in Tanis, Egypt. She lay in a gold-covered sarcophagus.

It is possible that this was the gold that he took from Jerusalem.

Thus, we know that King Solomon received 666 talents of gold annually. From whom? This gold came as an annual tax from the Jews (Jews professing Judaism). Each Jew was required to hand over one coin of gold.

From here we learn that the seal of the devil is on Jews or Jews professing Judaism. Moreover, we know that Moses brought this people out of the sea (this beast will come out of the sea).

You can see an example of the zealous attitude of one of the Jews who persecuted the disciples of Jesus:

9 It is true that I thought that I should do much against the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10 This is what I did in Jerusalem: having received authority from the high priests, I imprisoned many saints, and when they killed them, I gave my voice to it;
11 And throughout all the synagogues I tormented them many times and forced them to blaspheme [Jesus], and, being too furious against them, I persecuted them even in foreign cities.
12 For this reason, going to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

  • The Book of Revelations covers more than just the times of the early Christians. Naturally, everything that is written in it is useful for study and instruction, both today and for future generations.
  • It is worth taking into account the prophetic version of the presentation that was used in the books of the Old Testament. John used it when writing while imprisoned. Having thereby secured the importance of the words in it, he was able to calmly address them to the Christians in Jerusalem. Indeed, for an ordinary Roman of that time, everything that was stated in it, to put it mildly, did not fit into the framework of ordinary reasoning. John could not directly write, for example, about Nero, about the destruction of Jerusalem and about the persecution of Christians. Such a message would not pass censorship.
  • The image of King Solomon, the Temple and the wealth of his reign is very similar to John's description of the Heavenly Kingdom and King. It is worth comparing the image of King Solomon, his greatness, wealth and wisdom before his fall into sin with the described images of the Book of Revelation.
  • When studying the Book of Revelation, please note that it is very difficult to study, especially in absolute interpretations.

Christianity, considered the most widespread of religions both in terms of the number of adherents and geographical coverage, has conquered all continents and corners of the globe, existing for more than two millennia. Therefore, it is not surprising that the heroes and images from the New Testament - the main chronicle of all followers of Christ - have firmly entered the lives of many peoples, absorbed into their culture and beliefs. Among the books of the Gospel, the Apocalypse is considered the most mysterious. It is said to be about events that will take place at the end of time. Having fantastic and allegorical language, this part of Scripture contains enough mysterious symbols. One of these is the number 666. Sages of many generations are trying to figure out what this sequence of numbers means and what sacred meaning it carries.

    Number of the beast

The lines of the mentioned book, often also called “Revelation,” according to the source itself, were written by Christ’s disciple, the Apostle John. He received the nickname Theologian for the inspiration of his style and selfless faith in his teacher. It is believed that during the reign of Domitian (that is, at the end of the 1st century AD), the mentioned apostle was exiled to the island of Patmos for his active participation in the spread of the Christian faith. It was there that the associate of Christ received, as he himself writes about it, a divine revelation about the events of the future.

The Apocalyptic Beast appears in Chapter 13 of this book. Being a warrior of the forces of darkness, he conquers peoples and undermines their faith in goodness with his brazen blasphemies. The monster is described in a very fabulous way. It has 7 heads and 10 horns, the mouth of a lion, the strength of a dragon, the legs of a bear and the ferocity of a leopard. Here John also mentions the numbers 666. What do these numbers mean? The author of Revelations states that this is the number of the beast. And the reader gets the feeling that some kind of hint and fateful riddle is hidden here.

    Apocalyptic Beast

Who did the author of the lines of “Revelation” have in mind? The first followers of the then new faith were convinced that we were talking about the Antichrist, that is, a mythological character, but not about a person. However, as centuries passed, opinions on this matter changed.

The language of the “Apocalypse” is so allegorical and figurative that people in any era, when reading phrases from this book, always seemed to be talking about events of the current time. So, Protestants were sure that the Catholic Pope was hiding under the mask of the Beast. During the times of Napoleon and Hitler, it was these tyrants who were given the title of Antichrist. What does "666" mean? There was always some explanation for this. Proving that the Pope is the messenger of the devil, his opponents changed the letters in the name of his post to Roman numerals, and then, after making intricate calculations, they received the desired number, which they considered evidence of their rightness.

    Napoleon

Similar operations were also performed on the name of Napoleon (this is mentioned in Tolstoy’s famous novel). And at this moment you can find, if you try, a certain logic. For example, based on the above reasoning, the fall of Bonaparte was predicted in 1812 (after all, in “Revelations” the kingdom of the Beast lasts 42 months). It is interesting that Napoleon actually suffered a major defeat this year in Russia, which largely put an end to his power and curbed his dreams of world domination. 42 months is three and a half years, but from what historical date should they be correctly counted? If we count from 1809, when France became practically the leading European power, then one can see the meaning in the reasoning. But if we count from the moment when Napoleon was proclaimed emperor in 1804 or went to war against neighboring Austria, Prussia and Poland, then the desired similarity with the ominous biblical hero is not observed.

    Nero

German theologians put forward their version of what “666” means in the 19th century. And this theory in many ways seems quite reasonable and probable. They believed that John was talking about someone in particular who was both well and notorious in those days. When determining the numerical value of letters according to Hebrew gematria, in the name of Nero one can actually see the number 666. What does such a coincidence mean? Was John really allegorically hinting specifically at this emperor, encrypting everything in a symbolic form? But the apostle was telling his story about future events. And this was, as experts suggest, much later than 68, when Nero ingloriously committed suicide, putting an end to his bloody reign.

666: what does the order of numbers have to do with it?

Be that as it may, for many centuries these three numbers - 666 - have always been associated with bloody names and events, as well as fatal bad luck, which means a lot and speaks eloquently about the impression that the Theologian’s lines made on descendants. It is a universally recognized symbol of misfortune and bad omens. This is exactly how many representatives of our time will answer the question of what the number 666 means. And their grandparents reasoned in approximately the same way.

Fears about this matter are so great that some are afraid to move into apartments with such a number, are afraid of cars and rooms marked with such signs, and there is even talk of abolishing polling stations “cursed” by such a combination of numbers. Countless generations have considered this order of symbols to be somewhat sinister, although not everyone takes it seriously. There is a belief that “6” is a symbol of disharmony, and repeating it three times indicates a manifold increase in imperfection. However, such ideas are largely erroneous if we consider that the impetus for the emergence of superstitions were lines from the book of the previously mentioned apostle. After all, in the time of John, all numbers were written in letters, and he wrote “χξϛ”, and not three sixes.

    What does numerology say?

The science of numbers is much older than Christianity. Even the Pythagoreans, as well as ancient alchemists and astrologers, tried to calculate the fate of a person using numbers and dates.

Numerology teaches that all numbers existing in the world correspond to certain qualities of people and characterize the events that happen to them, predetermining success and failure in many affairs and endeavors. The magic of numbers is calculated based on birthdays and other significant dates. Here, any number is assigned specific images, concepts and properties. What does 666 mean for followers of this science? It is interesting that in this aspect the six is not considered sinister at all, quite the contrary. But let's talk about this in more detail.

    Shield of David

In numerology, the number “6” has been identified with success, beauty and health since ancient times, and served as a symbol of love. There are also many magical symbols associated with this number. One of them, quite common and well-known, is the so-called Star of David. It is drawn in the form of two triangles superimposed on each other, and reflects the essence of masculine and feminine, the balanced union of these two principles. The Pythagoreans considered the number 6 to be the limit of perfection, expressing balance in the Universe. The course of their thoughts can be fully explained, because they considered the cube to be the ideal of stability, and it is endowed with six equal faces.

It is interesting that some Christians held a similar opinion, elevating the mentioned number as a symbol of perfection. This means that if you see 666, you shouldn’t be scared right away. Perhaps this is an excellent omen.

Marked with the number "six" from birth

To understand what number a person was born under, you should add up all the numbers in the date of his birth and, having received a certain value, add the numbers again.

For example, a certain Ivanov was born on May 28, 1980.

    Here 2 + 8 + 0 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 33. And again 3 + 3 = 6.

It is believed that such people are distinguished by responsibility, sensitivity and kindness; they are also characterized by conscientiousness, wisdom and humanity.

There are also other indicators that are much more difficult to define and systematize. They are included in the so-called numerological chart, built on the basis of the full name and date of birth. Here, knowing some subtleties, a person gets the opportunity to analyze the past and future. The presence of the number 6 in such a card is an extremely favorable sign, indicating worldly wisdom, a quick mind and a positive balance of personality in its owner. And its absence often indicates indecision and insolvency. It’s even better when there are three such numbers: 666. What do they mean in a numerological chart? This speaks of depth of mind, clarity of plans and consistency.

    Control number

The sum of the numbers, made up of their value in the date of birth, is called the control number. If this is a six, this indicates the significant influence that this symbol has on the character and destiny of a person. Is there also 666 in the numerology chart? This means that their owner is quite reliable in love affairs, and you can rely on him in marriage. Peace will reign in family life, and warmth and comfort will reign in the house. Such people are romantic in cordial relationships. But not only that: they love to dig in the garden and vegetable garden, and their garden plot is always in perfect order. It is not surprising, because the number 6, among other things, was considered in the old days to be a symbol of fertility.

The need to love with all your heart is fundamental for a person whose ruling number is six. This character trait may even be too much in him, because often in their ability of selfless self-sacrifice such people forget themselves.

A fine line between good and evil

Let's summarize: what does the number 666 mean? Is it a symbol of darkness or the personification of light? Man is characterized by weaknesses, extremes, delusions and superstitions. And the line between good and evil is often too thin to be detected so easily. Obsession with some bright idea often develops into fanaticism. And completely harmless symbols can turn into satanic signs, bringing blood, misfortune and grief to millions. Take the swastika, which represents energy, the sun, movement and life. This harmless ornament, which has adorned clothing and household items for many centuries among many peoples, has been turned into a sign of evil.

It's hard to believe that the number 666 itself can carry something sinister. However, in modern society it has become a source of superstition. This notorious set of numbers often turns out to be an element of Satanist paraphernalia, just like an inverted cross or pentagram, bringing destruction and hatred.

    Number 666

Number 666 still arouses intense interest and controversy. There is a credible and plausible explanation for this mystery.

    666 - more than just a mystery

“No one could buy or sell except he who had the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Wisdom is needed here: let him who has intelligence calculate the number of the beast, for it is a human number; and his number was six hundred and sixty-six” (Revelation 13:17, 18).

Few things in the Bible are as exciting as the prophecy of the mysterious sign, or name, of the "beast" - the number 666. There are endless speculations about this sign on TV and on the Internet, as well as in movies, books and magazines.

Some believe that 666 is the number of the biblical Antichrist.

Others say it is some form of forced identification: something like a tattoo or an implanted microchip with a digital code that can be used to identify the servants of the beast.

Still others claim that 666 is a sign of the Catholic papacy. If the letters in the official title of the Pope Vicarius Filii Dei (Vicar of the Son of God) are replaced with Roman numerals and a few simple computational operations are performed with them, you get 666.

It is also stated that, by calculation, this number can be obtained from the name of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, written in Latin, and from the Hebrew spelling of the name of Caesar Nero.

The Bible reveals that those who have the mark of the beast will experience the wrath of God when He puts an end to the present system of things (Revelation 14:9-11; 19:20).

Understanding the mystery of the number 666 means much more than just solving a tricky riddle. Fortunately, Jehovah God, the very embodiment of love and the Source of spiritual light, does not leave his servants in the dark regarding this important matter.—2 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 1:5; 4:8.

Solving the mystery of the beast and its sign

Do you like solving riddles? When solving a riddle, you look for clues that help you find the solution. In His inspired Word, God gives the necessary clues to the mystery of the number 666, that is, the name, or mark, of the beast spoken of in the 13th chapter of Revelation.

In this article we will look at four main lines of reasoning that are important clues through which the meaning of the mark of the beast can be deciphered:

    1) how biblical names are sometimes given;

    2) what the beast is;

    3) why the number 666 is called “the number of men”;

    4) what is the meaning of the number 6 and why is it repeated three times, that is, 666 (Revelation 13:18).

Biblical names are not just names

Biblical names often contain deep meaning, especially if they were given by God. Here are examples of this.

Because Abram was to be the father of nations, God changed the patriarch's name to Abraham, which means “Father of the multitude” (Genesis 17:5).

God commanded Joseph and Mary to name Mary's unborn child Jesus, a name that means “Jehovah is salvation” (Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:31).

In accordance with the meaning of this name, through the ministry of Jesus and his sacrificial death, Jehovah God made our salvation possible (John 3:16).

Therefore, the God-given name number 666 should symbolically represent the characteristics of the beast as God sees them. Naturally, in order to determine these characteristics, we need to understand what the beast is and learn about its actions.

    The beast is defined

The biblical book of Daniel sheds bright light on the meaning of the symbolic beasts. The seventh chapter very vividly depicts the “four great beasts”: a lion, a bear, a leopard, and a terrible beast with great iron teeth (Daniel 7:2-7).

Daniel explains that these beasts represent “kings,” or political governments, who take turns ruling over vast empires (Daniel 7:17, 23).

Of the beast of Revelation 13:1, 2, one dictionary says that it “combines the characteristics of the four beasts of Daniel’s vision...

Therefore, this first beast [of Revelation] represents the combined forces of all the political governments of the world that oppose God” (“The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible”).

This conclusion is supported by the words of Revelation 13:7, which says of the beast: “Power was given to him over every nation, and people, and tongue, and nation.”

Why are animals used in the Bible as a symbol of human rule? There are at least two reasons for this.

Firstly, over the centuries, governments, like animals, have shed a lot of blood.

“Wars are an integral part of history,” wrote historians Wil and Ariel Durant, “and neither civilization nor democracy has changed the situation.”

How true is the statement that “man rules over man to his detriment”! (Ecclesiastes 8:9).

Second, “the dragon [Satan] gave to the beast his power, and his throne, and great authority” (Revelation 12:9; 13:2).

Accordingly, human government is the fruit of the Devil and therefore reflects the disposition of the beast or dragon (John 8:44; Ephesians 6:12).

However, the above does not mean that Satan manipulates every single human ruler.

Human governments in a certain sense are “God’s servants”: they establish order in society, without which chaos would reign in the world.

Some leaders defend basic human rights, including the right to profess faith in the true God, which Satan clearly does not like (Romans 13:3, 4; Ezra 7:11-27; Acts 13:7).

Yet, because of Satan's influence, no person or human organization has been able to bring lasting peace and security to the people (John 12:31).

    "Human Number"

Another key to understanding the meaning of the number 666 is found in the expression “human number.”

These words cannot apply to an individual, since it is not man, but Satan, who has power over the beast (Luke 4:5, 6; 1 John 5:19; Revelation 13:2, 18).

The expression “human number” indicates, rather, that the beast has a human nature - it is not a spirit or a demon. Therefore, he has certain human characteristics.

What might apply to them? The Bible gives the answer: “All [men] have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Thus, the fact that the beast has the "number of a man" shows this: governments reflect the fallen state of humanity - a sign of sin and imperfection.

History confirms this. “All civilizations that have ever existed have ultimately fallen,” said former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. “History is a record of efforts that failed, aspirations that were not realized. […] The historian has to live with the feeling of the inevitability of tragedy.”

Kissinger's honest historical assessment confirms an important biblical truth: “His way is not in the will of a man... it is not in the power of him who walks to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23).

Now that we have determined what the beast is and learned how God views it, it is time to understand the last part of the riddle, namely, what is the meaning of the number 6 and why it is repeated three times, that is, 666.

Why is the number 6 repeated three times?

In Scripture, some numbers have symbolic meaning. The number 7, for example, is often used to represent completeness, or perfection, from God's perspective.

Thus, God's creative week includes seven “days,” or long periods of time, during which God fully carries out his creative purposes for the earth (Genesis 1:3-2:3).

God's words are like silver “seven times refined,” that is, completely purified (Psalm 11:7; Proverbs 30:5, 6).

The leper Naaman was instructed to wash himself seven times in the Jordan River, after which he was completely restored (2 Kings 5:10, 14).

6 is less than 7 by one unit. Isn't this an appropriate designation for imperfection, or incompleteness, from God's point of view? Of course it's appropriate! (1 Chronicles 20:6, 7).

Moreover, the triple repetition of the number 6 especially emphasizes this imperfection. The correctness of this conclusion is confirmed by the fact that the number 666 is, as we have already considered, a “human number.”

Thus, the deeds of the beast, the expression “the number of man” and the number 666 itself all lead to the only true conclusion: it is a suitable symbol of pronounced imperfection and failure in the eyes of Jehovah God.

The image of the imperfection of the beast brings to mind what was said about the king of ancient Babylon Belshazzar.

Through the prophet Daniel, Jehovah God told this ruler: “You are weighed in the balance and found very light.”

That same night Belshazzar was killed and the mighty Babylonian Empire fell (Daniel 5:27, 30).

Likewise, God's judgment on the political beast and those who bear his mark foretells the end of him and his minions.

This time, however, God will not just destroy one political system, but everything associated with human government (Daniel 2:44; Revelation 19:19, 20).

How important it is therefore to remain clean from this deadly mark of the beast!

Keys to Understanding the Meaning of the Number 666

    1. A biblical name often conveys something about the character or lifestyle of its bearer. This was the case with Abraham, Jesus and many others. Likewise, the number-name of the beast reflects its characteristic features.

    2. In the biblical book of Daniel, successive human kingdoms, or empires, are represented by different beasts. The collective image of the beast from Revelation 13:1, 2 symbolizes the world political system, which is given power and controlled by Satan.

    3. The expression “human number” shows that the beast has a human nature, and not a demonic one. Therefore, it reflects human shortcomings that are the result of sin and imperfection.

    4. From God's point of view, the number 6 indicates imperfection, since it is less than the number 7, which symbolizes completeness and perfection. The triple repetition of the number 6 emphasizes this imperfection.

    Sign defined

Revelation follows the account of the number 666 by mentioning 144,000 followers of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who have the name of Jesus and the name of his Father, Jehovah, written on their foreheads.

This signifies their belonging to Jehovah and his Son, to whom they worthily testify. Likewise, those who have the mark of the beast declare their submission to the beast.

Therefore, figuratively speaking, the mark on the right hand or on the forehead is a symbolic sign by which those who support and bow to the beast-like political systems of the world are recognized.

Those marked with this mark give to “Caesar” what rightfully belongs to God (Luke 20:25; Revelation 13:4, 8; 14:1). How?

The fact that they treat political states, their symbols and military power with religious respect, looking at them as a source of hope and salvation. They pay lip service to the true God.

In contrast, the Bible advises: “Do not put your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation. His spirit departs, and he returns to his land: in that day all his thoughts perish away” (Psalm 145:3, 4).

Those who heed this wise counsel are not disappointed when governments fail to keep their promises or when charismatic leaders fall out of favor with the masses (Proverbs 1:33).

This does not mean that true Christians are idle while humanity is in a deplorable state. On the contrary, they actively talk about the government that will solve humanity's problems—the Kingdom of God, of which they are representatives (Matthew 24:14).

God's Kingdom is the only hope for humanity

When Jesus lived on earth, the main theme of his preaching was the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43).

In his model prayer, also known as the Lord's Prayer, Jesus taught his followers to pray for this kingdom to come and for God's will to be done here on earth (Matthew 6:9, 10).

The kingdom is a government that will rule over the whole earth, not from some earthly capital, but from heaven. That's why Jesus called it "the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 11:12).

Who can become a better King of the Kingdom than Jesus Christ, who gave his life for his future subjects? (Isaiah 9:6, 7; John 3:16).

Soon this perfect Ruler, a mighty spirit, will throw the beast, his kings and his armies into the “lake of fire burning with brimstone,” which symbolizes complete destruction.

Modern people are conquering space, diligently studying the essence of things and phenomena, but are still afraid mysterious number 666. He is credited with the most unusual possibilities, which often have nothing to do with reality. What is hidden behind this mystical trinity? Should we be afraid of this combination and how to avoid possible troubles?

    Number 666 in the bible

For religious people, the mention of the number 666 is associated with the devil, with dark forces. In the Bible this is the number of the beast, which will appear before the coming apocalypse.

Some people see in this number the encrypted name of the lord of hell, while others believe that this is only a pointer to his main henchman. As soon as the time comes, it is the beast that will emerge from the water to lead the army of darkness to the decisive battle.

Some theologians are confident that the Antichrist himself is hidden under a certain number. Because of this, three sixes are carefully looked for in the name or date of a suspicious person in order to find confirmation of their guesses.

Behind three sixes there may be three phenomena hidden that indicate the coming of the Antichrist. One six indicates God, the second indicates the creation of man in his image and likeness. But the third six is pointer to human clone, to the appearance of a biorobot.

As soon as biorobots are created that are completely identical to humans, devastation and chaos will come to the world. The famous apocalypse will begin, which does not bode well. Because of this Church ministers oppose cloning and the creation of robots, but the scientific community is extremely reluctant to listen to their opinion.

Taking into account the time of creation of the Bible, the name of the most cruel and capricious emperor, Nero, may be hidden behind the three sixes. He was distinguished by a special bloodthirstiness that bordered on madness. He came up with very sophisticated punishments for his enemies, so he was greatly feared.

It was also Nero who ordered his own statue to be installed in the temple so that he could be worshiped. The wayward ruler declared himself a god, and perceived any objections negatively. Because of such blasphemous and cruel behavior, the emperor was considered a representative of the kingdom of darkness, and many saw him as the Antichrist.

Contrary to Christian traditions Satanists often use 666 in their rituals. Even in the very name of the Satanic Church there is this symbolism to emphasize the connection with dark forces.

Magicians, sorcerers and psychics use 666 to achieve some global goals that they cannot achieve in other ways. Some people use this combination to attract winnings, while others use it for revenge. However, the fees for such games turn out to be too high, and it is difficult for even the most strong-willed person to regain their former peace of mind.

What does 666 mean in Islam?

Islam considers the only correct belief in a supreme being, Allah. He helps, supports and protects. Anything that does not fit into these canons is considered false. It is because of this for a real Muslim, the number 666 does not carry any information– neither positive nor negative.

However, modern Muslims, under the influence of the Internet and other sources of information, are beginning to attribute a negative influence to this number, although there is no real basis for this. Because of this, in Islamic countries, three sixes are used along with other numbers, without giving it any hidden meaning.

    Esotericism and the number 666

In esotericism, the number 666 has an ambiguous meaning. However, most often only positive opportunities are attributed to him. In this case, a person’s personal attitude to this combination plays a special role, since in esotericism thoughts can materialize.

If a person has a negative attitude towards some phenomenon, then he attracts negative events. When the mood is positive, the necessary connections, people and phenomena appear in life.

Number 666 from an esoteric point of view:

    • Symbol of success and power.
    • Talisman to attract money.
    • A call for self-development and self-knowledge.
    • An indication of a successful coincidence of circumstances.

Due to the close connection of the number to the material world, it is often chosen as a talisman by financiers and people associated with money. Some banks are even ready to depict this combination on their buildings in order to attract financial flows.

Famous artists diligently use the capabilities of sixes to gain good luck and success. However, practice shows that the number 666 requires a special attitude and some preparation.

If a person with weak energy uses it, instead of the desired success, it will only attract trouble. Because of this, before using sixes in a phone number, car number or in other areas, you should check your feelings, and only then make a final decision.

    Number 666 and home

If the number 6 is found in the number of a house or apartment, then the inhabitants of such a home will spend most of their time in idleness and fun. Such a house will always be full of guests, pleasant emotions and positivity. This place has a lot of animals, plants and the warmth that the inhabitants give each other.

However, the accumulation of three sixes at once in the number of a house or apartment can carry negative information. Under the influence of sixes, scandals often arise in the house, therefore, you should control your behavior.

It is believed that if a person comes across a hotel room with the number 666, he must refuse it. Such a room attracts negativity and also symbolizes problems in life. Often this is a kind of warning that you need to reconsider your behavior.

Maybe, the person is too focused on himself, on his problems, but pays too little attention to loved ones. As soon as the imbalance is corrected, the terrible figure will cease to haunt and appear.

Generally, the number 666 has a dual component. On the one hand, it can bring troubles and destroy destinies. On the other hand, it can support, help and guide. Everything depends only on the specific person, his attitude towards the magical sixes and willpower.

If a person is sure that the material will not take over him, then he can safely choose a phone number with this number or use sixes in other areas. If you have the slightest doubt, it is better to refuse to use 666 so as not to harm yourself and your loved ones.

The main opponent of God, the representative of misfortune, evil and dark forces - these are the epithets the man of the devil awarded. For a long time, people tried to avoid what was associated with this mythical creature. Many beliefs, legends and superstitious opinions were invented in ancient times, and people experienced panic fear of the powerful power of the devil, fearing to incur quick death or incurable illness.

Currently, a person is educated enough not to take seriously everything that filled the heads of his ancestors. However, various talismans and amulets do not leave modern homes and protect the home from evil spirits and the evil eye of ill-wishers. It is believed that everyone always needs protection from evil spirits, so that luck and success in business do not turn away from the owner.

People still try to avoid the number 666, which is associated with the devil: on a car’s license plate, on a plastic card, or in a telephone number. The Orthodox people plunged into panic due to the introduction of pension and tax numbers, seeing in this the evil intent of Satan. The extent to which such measures were justified by the state had to be explained to Patriarch Alexy, and the essence of this number had to be revealed.

The essence of the problem is that, as usual, a person begins to study the issue from the opposite direction and pays the greatest attention to that aspect that does not deserve attention. In the Holy Scriptures they try to take the unimportant and sensational out of context, bringing it to the fore, but they prefer to remain silent about the main thing. Great prophecies that take on real features are not studied so carefully, but interpretations of the devil's number distort the truth and act in the hands of Satan.

If we briefly describe the events taking place on earth several centuries ago, then the division of Christianity into two groups (the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church) led to attempts to calculate the title of the Pope as 666. Many Bible scholars avoid speaking unequivocally about this event, but the fact is that the reformers called the Pope the Antichrist, confirmed by historical facts.

Another hypothesis for the origin of the number 666 is based on events that occurred during the era of the Roman Empire, when the minted coins were written: Nero Kaisar. If you mathematically add up the digital values of the letters, you get 666, although the assumption is quite controversial. In Greek writing, the sum of the digital values is 616, since the correct name would be Nero Caesar, which is ultimately 50 less.

A person’s fear of various numbers is associated with their influence on fate. Numerology is a science through which it is possible to predict the future with high probability and describe the character of a person himself, based only on his date of birth. It is not for nothing that the number 666 is of such interest; it is mentioned in the Bible. Many politicians are attached to the devilish number and prefer to postpone important meetings and negotiations if their date is in any way combined with the number 666.
