Lavash with cheese and herbs, fried in a frying pan. Lavash roll with cheese and herbs in the oven Lavash with suluguni and tomatoes in the oven

Lavash rolls are no longer a novelty for our housewives: changing the fillings at their discretion, many prepare amazingly beautiful snacks from lavash. I, too, as you know, really love such recipes, I cook them often and gladly share my impressions, tips and recommendations with you.

Today's dish is also a roll, but of a slightly different type. And it’s not all about the filling – it’s quite simple: herbs, cheese, ham. No, the highlight of this recipe is the cooking process.

First, everything is standard: lay out the filling, wrap it in a roll. And then bake the pita bread with cheese and ham in the oven until golden brown. The result is a hot dish - nourishing, beautiful, appetizing.

It can not only be used as a spectacular snack, but also served as an independent dish - for example, for breakfast. Everyone in my family likes this recipe - both adults and children; it is quickly prepared and eaten just as quickly. I hope you will like pita bread in the oven with cheese and ham.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of thin pita bread;
  • 0.5 bunch of greens (cilantro, parsley);
  • 100 g suluguni cheese;
  • 50-70 g ham;
  • 1 yolk;
  • vegetable oil for greasing the mold;
  • 1-2 cloves and garlic – optional.

How to cook lavash baked in the oven with cheese and herbs:

Let's start with the filling first. It is based on cilantro and suluguni. Finely chop the greens, three suluguni on a coarse grater. Mix cilantro and cheese. At this stage, if you wish, you can add garlic to the filling, passed through a garlic press or finely chopped with a knife.

Place a sheet of lavash on a work surface and apply the filling on it, distributing it throughout the lavash.

Ham will accompany the cheese and herbs. We cut it very thin so that it rolls easily. This is necessary so that later the meat component does not become an obstacle to the formation of a dense lavash roll.

Place chopped ham on the pita filling.

And now we wrap the pita bread into a roll. Take your time, do it carefully, because in this case it is very important that the roll does not fall apart, is tightly and evenly wrapped.

Grease the bottom of a heat-resistant mold with a small amount of vegetable oil and place the lavash roll in it. You can skip the use of a mold and bake the roll directly on a baking sheet, but in this case I recommend covering the baking sheet with baking paper.

To make the pita bread with cheese and ham nicely browned in the oven, brush the top with beaten egg yolk.

And bake the pita bread at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes. We have all the ingredients ready, the main thing is that the lavash becomes golden on top and the suluguni melts. The specified time is quite enough for this.

Remove the pita bread from the mold and let it cool for 3-5 minutes.

A hot snack of pita bread with different fillings can be prepared in the microwave, oven, or on the grill.

You don’t have to buy lightly salted salmon with red caviar for your holiday table. It is enough to have simple ingredients to cook, for example, pita bread with cheese and herbs in a frying pan, and even without oil.

Using Armenian bread in cooking gives quick results.

Thin flatbread snacks are not only beautiful, but they also give the impression of a composition that took a lot of time to create.

Basic information

This is a delicious dish that can be prepared both at home and outdoors while waiting for a delicious kebab. The main ingredients are suluguni, Armenian lavash itself and cilantro. If necessary, add tomatoes or boiled chicken.

Tip: “For cooking you will need a large grater, a whisk and several bowls. It’s better to prepare the dishes in advance.”

Recipe of reduced complexity. It doesn’t require any special skills - just the ability to cut ingredients evenly and fry them in a frying pan. It will take about an hour to prepare lavash with suluguni cheese.

Ingredients of lavash with suluguni

  • 100 g fresh suluguni cheese.
  • 3-4 sheets of pita bread, store-bought or homemade.
  • Half a bunch of fresh herbs - parsley, cilantro, dill.
  • 2-3 pcs. juicy tomatoes.
  • 4 tbsp. l. homemade mayonnaise (preferred)
  • 2 chicken eggs.
  • 100 ml. low-fat milk.
  • Salt, black pepper, other spices to taste.

Step by step recipe

To prepare a lavash roll with suluguni, you need to grate the main ingredient on a coarse grater. If desired, you can mix the main ingredient with Adyghe, Imerinsky or even feta. Cheese cheese goes well with general flavor notes. But first you need to soak it in milk.

Afterwards, you need to finely chop all the available greens, mixing it with cheese, as in the photo. Gently stir the ingredients so that they are evenly distributed throughout the bowl.

Take tomatoes - preferably they are juicy. Large vegetables grown in your own garden work well. Cut into small circles, as in the photo.

Take a few chicken eggs and pour them into a bowl. Pour milk into the resulting mixture and add any spices to taste. You can make lavash with suluguni and herbs spicy or piquant.

Beat it all with a whisk until smooth. Afterwards, you need to pour it from the bowl into a deep plate for ease of use.

Take one sheet of Armenian lavash. Apply a little mayonnaise to the center - a thin layer. Lay out the cheese and herbs, place a few chopped tomatoes on top, distributing it evenly.

Create a small envelope for baking in a frying pan or grill. Wrap the existing filling using the method shown in the photo. Make sure there are no holes or leaks in the envelope.

Carefully take the pastry and dip it into the egg mixture prepared earlier on all sides. Place the dish in a frying pan and gently fry on both sides. A sign of readiness is the appearance of a golden and crispy crust.

It is best to serve hot; if necessary, reheat in a frying pan, in the microwave or in the oven.

If necessary, boiled eggs are also added to the filling. Such lavash with suluguni is easy to prepare at home, but in nature it is better to choose a less perishable product.

Tip: “Replace the egg yolk with butter. It will help keep the entire structure in place.”

If there were not enough edges when creating envelopes, create a “patch” from the remaining sheets. You can fix it on the pita bread using an egg solution - during the baking process it will hold the sheet in place.

To ensure that the lavash with suluguni is thoroughly fried, it is pressed into the frying pan with an ordinary spatula. When using an oven for cooking, it is enough to set the temperature to 180 degrees so that the roll is properly baked on all sides.

Regular black tea is a good accompaniment to this snack. A strong drink will highlight the salty taste of the dish, allowing it to open up. Another drink can clog the baked goods.
